Email sam@zzg.org.uk — we usually reply within a couple of days. Include your group name and what device you're on and it'll be quicker.

GETTING STARTED

How do I join my mates' group?

Ask whoever set it up for the six-character invite code. On the welcome screen, set up your profile, tap Continue, then enter the code under "or join existing".

How do I invite people?

Open the Invite tab. Your group's code is there, along with a share button that writes the message for you.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use Pool Pals fully without one. Creating an account (email and password) only exists so you can get your groups back if you change phone or reinstall.

GAMES & RANKINGS

How is my score worked out?

Everyone starts on 1000 points and it moves using an Elo rating, the same system chess uses. Beating someone rated above you gains more points than beating someone below you, and the gap decides how much moves.

Why am I not ranked yet?

You need three games before you get a position on the leaderboard. Until then you'll see how many you've got left to play.

I logged a game wrong — can I fix it?

Group admins can. Go to Me → Manage Games to edit or delete any result. Points recalculate automatically. There's also an undo option straight after saving.

Why did my achievement not unlock?

Some need a run of games — Hat Trick needs three wins in a row, On Fire needs five. Once earned they stay earned, even if your form dips afterwards.

GROUPS

Can I be in more than one group?

Yes. Tap your group name at the top of the screen to switch between them or add another. Each keeps its own players, games and stats — they never mix.

How do I leave a group?

Me → Leave Group. Games you already played stay in the group's history, the same way a final score doesn't vanish from a scoreboard, but they're no longer tied to an active profile of yours.

NOTIFICATIONS

I'm not getting any

Check Me → Notifications in the app first. If push is switched off there, turn it on. If it won't switch on, iOS is blocking it — go to iOS Settings → Pool Pals → Notifications and allow them, since iOS only ever asks once.

Can I get fewer of them?

Yes. Under Me → Notifications you can pick exactly what you hear about: games you played in, every game in the group, and new players joining are all separate toggles.

ACCOUNT & DATA

I got a new phone — how do I get my groups back?

If you created an account, tap Sign In on the welcome screen and everything comes back. If you didn't, just re-enter your group's invite code.

How do I delete my account and data?

Me → Delete Account permanently deletes your account and removes your profile from every group on that device. To have anything else removed, email us.

What do you collect?

Your name, avatar, game results, and your email if you make an account. No ads, no trackers, no analytics. See the privacy policy for the detail.
